Up, up and away!!

Here I am! Waiting at the Cairns International Departures, about to get my connecting flight to Japan to start this crazy adventure!!

Slight hiccough in Melbourne when I tried to drop off my bags, with the entire bag drop being shut down for 5 minutes while maintenance unhooked one of my bag straps from the conveyor belt, but we got it sorted!!

Pretty bloody excited right now. Will check in when we actually get to Japan.

Cupcakes!!

My sister and her super amazing boyfriend are hands down the cutest. Not only did her and my dad drop me at the airport at 4am, but she cooked me Japanese rising sun style red velvet cupcakes!!!

seriously, how amazing are these??

Packing

There isn't a whole lot of information on the web about how to pack for a range of weather conditions. Seeing as I'll be travelling from temperatures of around -20, right through to high 30s, I've had to work out how to pack clothes for all conditions, without going over the weight limit set by airlines.

  • 2 x jeans
  • 2 x shorts
  • 1 x trackies
  • 1 x sleep shorts
  • 6 x t-shirts
  • 3 x long sleeve shirts
  • 2 x singlets
  • 2 x light dresses
  • 1 x jumper
  • 1 x jacket
  • 1 x waterproof jacket
  • 1 x ski jacket
  • 1 x bathers
  • 1 x beanie
  • 1 x warm scarf
  • 1 x light scarf
  • 6 x socks
  • 10 x undies
  • 2 x tights
  • 3 x bras

I've tried to keep everything in pretty basic colours so that I can wear anything with anything else.

I feel like I may have overpacked, but think I'm going to appreciate the layers, and all up, this only weighed about 5kg. I'll update my clothing contents as I change what's in the bag!
